Our very first Indian coffee release was this very washed Chandragiri cultivar from Himu and Karyuna, sourced via the South India Coffee Company back in 2020. 

Since then, the team at the Estate have been tweaking and improving their processing, making every new season’s crop their best washed coffee yet!

  • Roaster's Notes

    In 2022, as Autumn gradually turned into winter here in the UK, our Head of Coffee Nuno and QC Assistant Rakan made their way to sunny Karnataka, South India, to visit Komal and Akshay of SICC and Himu and Karyuna of Krishnagiri Estate.

    Located close to the stunning Baba Budangiri Peak, this evergreen estate was taken over by Himu and Karyuna fairly recently. Most producers in the region grow both Arabica and Canephora (a.k.a. Robusta), with some, like Komal and Akshay, also growing other species like Liberica. Krishnagiri’s higher altitude doesn't allow Canephora to thrive, making their production 100% Arabica.
