This washed variety blend is grown by members of the COOPAFSI cooperative, in the San Ignacio province, at the top of the Cajamarca region. With their farms located in the buffer zones of a protected natural area, they grow their coffee plants organically.

    We have been purchasing this El Oso lot through our green bean sourcing partners DRWakefield for six years now. Both our teams believe that Peru produces some of the best organic coffee in the world and this special micro lot was created to showcase the best the country can offer.

    The Frontera San Ignacio cooperative worked with their members to create a consistent high scoring micro lot that is produced organically and will exhibit the same characteristics year on year. Because the cooperative is made up of small holders, this means that, to maintain consistency of flavour, the contributing farmers may vary slightly year on year.
