Caramel, Pear, Creamy Body
Magasi is the sum product of 76 farmers working along the highest stretches of Mount Elgon. This is the first time we’ve featured a Ugandan coffee in our offering, its subtle pear acidity and big bodied caramel sweetness made it something we had to share.
Coffee makes up approximately 95% of Uganda’s national yearly exports, with Uganda being one of the world largest producers of Robusta coffee. We have noticed more and more speciality grade Arabica coffee emerging from Uganda in recent years, and are excited to feature this delicious, washed coffee as our first Ugandan release.
Magasi was sourced through our friends at Falcon Speciality and is part of The Coffee Gardens project. As well as paying farmers 10-30% above market price, The Coffee Gardens project also owns a washing station where they process the coffee they buy. They offer farmers year-around training on improved agriculture with their agronomists and help with the distribution of new trees.
